Who are you standing for? Here in Colorado, we’re one of 13 states and one territory participating in Super Tuesday. Super Tuesday is a day in which these states hold primary elections. The candidate that gets the most delegates (both Democrat and Republican) will be named the presidential nominee for their party. This is an important day other than Election Day.
Candidates have been going to all these states, campaigning and working hard to get the vote of the voters. Some campaigns have been dirty, rude, embarrassing to say the least. Campaign ads are running almost all the time. Honestly, I hate the ads more than anything. Advertisements don’t always paint a true picture of candidates.
What they say in debates, television interviews and past history creates a much better picture. This post isn’t about the elections going on in these 13 states. It’s about your own voice. Who are YOU standing up for?
Most of us chose to build a business to help others. In our minds, we figured that somewhere down the road, we have learned things that makes us qualified to share with others. So, if you’re thinking that you should stand up for them, this could be one way at looking at it and there’s nothing wrong with this answer. But, the voice that needs to be heard is yours. The one that you should be standing for, is YOU.
Remember, you don’t have to be in business to #OwnYourTruth. Whatever you’re doing in your life, you going to need to be able to stand on your own.
This is all part of gaining visibility. This is part of discovering who you are. I personally call this, owning your truth (#OwnYourTruth). It’s your truth that’s going to help someone else get through that valley they’re in. It’s your truth that will help that will help that person dig deep and find out who they are. It’s YOUR truth! We (yes me included) shouldn’t be ashamed of it or hide from it any longer. Let me keep this real. Your truth won’t help everyone. That’s just fact.
There are people out there who have and are denying their truth. They’re trying to pretend that it didn’t happen; trying hard to erase that part of themselves as if it didn’t exist. Trying to forget that it’s part of their history. This doesn’t have to be you. You don’t have to claim this.
Step up into who you are. Campaign on your truth. If you keep talking, your ideal client will find you. After all, you have been through what they are looking for. Keep campaigning for YOU. Keep sharing your truth.
