How many times have you asked yourself this question while pursuing your dream? Do you feel that something is wrong with you that you are not achieving your dreams? Do you feel that everyone around seems to have their dreams coming to pass while you are still fighting for yours? I have felt that way; more than once.
First and foremost, there is nothing wrong with you. Please get this thought out of your mind. In my own pursuit of my dream, I’ve discovered that some dreams take longer to come to pass than others. There are still lessons to be learned that probably haven’t been learned yet.
Discouragement is a natural feeling and part of the process of achieving your dreams. The key is to remain focused on your goal and keep moving forward in your quest for your dream. Remember that your time is coming.
Looking at everyone else and what they’re doing shouldn’t be on your list of priorities. Be happy for your friends that are getting their dreams accomplished. This is hard too; especially if they seem to always get what they want while you’re still waiting on yours. There is a reason why you haven’t gotten yours yet. I can’t tell you what that is, but if you search within yourself, the answer is there. You have to be ready for the truth. Sometimes, the truth can hurt.
If you haven’t started journaling yet, I encourage you to do so. Writing down everything seems to release it from yourself and on to paper. This can be very therapeutic. You’re not doing this to dwell on it, but it is to get it out of your system. I challenge you to start journaling today. Make it a habit. You’ll be amazed by what comes out on paper if you just write. Don’t edit what you’ve written. Just write.
Fight for your dream. Don’t give up. Yes, there are times that you will get discouraged and you will feel like you want to give up. I’ve been there. I know what it’s like to be discouraged and want to walk away from a dream. I couldn’t give up; but I wanted to. Pursuing your dream isn’t always going to be a bed of roses. It will be hard at times. No doubt about that, but have faith. You will make it. I did.
Keep the faith….
