Back in September, I wrote a post titled Have Hope.  I talked briefly about having hope for your future and know that all is not lost.  Today’s post, I want to talk briefly about the Power of Hope.

Hope is a very powerful thing.  It can get you excited and motivated of things to come. It is the first inkling in your soul that believes that things in life will get better.  It’s not a wish.  Pure Hope runs deep.  It’s a matter of the heart.  As long as you have some hope in your life, things can begin to change.  If you lose that hope, it can be a challenge to get it back.

“Hope can be a powerful force. Maybe there’s no actual magic in it, but when you know what you hope for most and hold it like a light within you, you can make things happen, almost like magic.”  ~ Laini Taylor, Daughter of Smoke & Bone

I had the above-referenced quote in my Have Hope post.  It’s still very relevant now and also true.  Hope is not magic, but whatever it is that you want or rather hope for, hold it close to your heart.  The power of hope is real.

What have you lost hope in? Maybe you recently lost your job and can’t seem to find a way out.  Maybe you’ve been diagnosed with an illness and in that moment, you just want to give up.   You feel like all hope is lost.  Believe me, I’ve been there where I have felt that all hope was lost.   I was in a lot of pain, emotionally.  I couldn’t see the possibilities of anything.  One day, it just clicked.  I realized that hope is what keeps you moving even in times when you feel you can’t go on.  It’s the power of hope that carries you.  It’s the power of hope that can lift you up when you’re down.

When you go through the storms of life that carry a lot of pain and stress, but somehow still believe that this too shall pass; you have hope.  Having hope can empower you in the midst of the toughest times.  In the end, you’re a survivor as you’re still here. Still standing.

Having hope in our lives can bring about change.  Sometimes and in some situations, hope is all you need.  Hope plants the seed of what can be.  Once that seed is planted, it can begin to grow.  Once it starts growing, then you can have faith that it will come to pass.

“The best way to not feel hopeless is to get up and do something. Don’t wait for good things to happen to you. If you go out and make some good things happen, you will fill the world with hope, you will fill yourself with hope.”  ~ Barack Obama

Hope is not always simple.  It may sound simple, but if you’re deep in the midst of your storm, sometimes, that’s all you’ll see.  You won’t see anything else around you as you’re putting your focus on your circumstances.  We’re human.  That’s how a lot of us operate.  Think for a moment, having a small amount of hope.  Having hope is what calms us from our overbearing circumstances.

“Remember, Hope is a good thing, maybe the best of things, and no good thing ever dies.”  ~ Stephen King

Stephen King is right.  Hope is a great thing.  Hope provides us much-needed encouragement in the face of adversity. Whatever it is that you’re going through don’t lose hope.  Hold on to it as tight as you can.  That thing or situation that you put your hope in will work its way out the way it needs to.

Keep Your Head Up. Keep moving forward. Don’t give up.

Until Next Time…
