Slow down! Â Catch your breath. Â Take it one step at a time. Â
It seems that in our busy lives, there is always so much to do and there isn’t enough time in the day to complete everything. With that comes overwhelm and pressures to fulfill the responsibilities in our lives. Â I have so much going on in my daily life that I too had to examine myself. Â You could be someone that has it all together and I applaud you. Then there are those of you that are running around with your head cut off and wondering how is it all going to come together. Â I was a part of that group.
Sometimes all is takes is to take a breath, slow down and focus on one thing at at time. Â If you have so much to do and don’t see an end in sight, then these few strategies will help you.
1. Â Create your to-do list. Â Write down everything that needs to be done with deadline dates if you have them. Â Everything. Â Don’t worry about the order. Â Just write it all down.
2. Â Prioritize your list. Â Look at what needs to be done and then prioritize them from most important to least.
3. Â Finally, take each task and complete them one at a time. Â Cross them off as you go so you can see your progress. Â Don’t try to do too much at once. Â You face getting overwhelmed and nothing will get accomplished.
You may be thinking that these strategies aren’t new. Â That could be true. Â However, sometimes we need to be reminded of the basics in order to keep moving forward. Â If you are all over the place, are you making the progress that you need to? Â Working like that didn’t work for me very well. Â When I am able to focus on that one task that needs to be done, I am able to make much better progress at reaching my goals than trying to do it all at once.
Slow it down and take it one step at a time. Â You will reach your goals. Â Be patient with yourself.
