What do you do to show yourself that you love you? Do you treat yourself with kindness? Do you speak kind words to yourself? Do you take care of your body? Do you treat yourself with respect?
Loving yourself first is the foundation. When you treat yourself with kindness, you feel good about you. You start gaining confidence about yourself. You start to grow more into who you should be and be willing to do more things to make you happy.
When you do not love yourself, you cannot really love anyone else. This is true. You must truly love yourself first and then loving others will come more naturally. This is something that shouldn’t be forced.
Do you know that there is a large group of people that do not love themselves? If you felt like you were the only one, I’m here to tell you, you are not. No matter how old you are, it is not too late to start the practice of loving yourself.
You may feel that you are not good enough, or that you do not have enough or you beat yourself up for making mistakes. You may have also spent time pleasing others instead of yourself or you are in a relationship that is not healthy for you.
There used to be a time when I did not love myself at all. I allowed the “voices” of others to control how I did things in my own life. Not anymore. I had to learn that my life is my own and NO ONE should have control over me. This goes the same for you too. No one should be dictating how you do things in your life. If this is happening to you, below are three key strategies for you to break free and learn how to love and accept yourself just as you are.
Three Ways to Say I Love You to You
1. Tell yourself wonderful things. Yes, tell yourself wonderful things. In the beginning, it may seem weird, but the more you do it, the more natural it will feel. You will also start to feel differently too.
2. Buy yourself something nice. When you buy something nice for yourself, you are showing yourself some love and that you deserve to have the best. Whether it’s that new Michael Kors purse, or that wrap dress from Macy’s or that nice red lipstick from MAC Cosmetics. Whatever makes you feel good, get it. After all, you do deserve the best.
3. Plan an “It’s All About Me” Day. Nothing says “I love me” more than planning a nice day specifically for me. Schedule a day in advance and do the things that make you happy. Do not do errands or clean the house. Find a sitter for the kids. This day is all about you. Treat this time as a “special time” for yourself.
These are just a few strategies that I’ve shared to help you start loving yourself more. If you want coaching on how to get yourself to where you want to be, please contact me today. I would love to help empower you to greatness.
