In a state of depression or if you’re just having a hard time, it’s hard to have hope. Hope doesn’t seem possible when the world we’re temporarily in seems filled with darkness and despair. It’s hard enough to get out of bed in the morning than to add hope to the mix. I’m here to tell you that hope is possible, even while we’re down and/or depressed. I’m going to help you get your hopes up!
Hope is Powerful
The power of hope is an amazing thing. Hope is a strong and powerful word. Hope can change how we think and feel about something in an instant. The problem is, in our state of depression, hope doesn’t seem feasible. You may be thinking why would I want to get my hopes up? There’s no point. Oh yes, there is. Getting your hopes up for something that you want to do; something you want to have. Maybe there’s a place you want to go. Have hope that you can do or go somewhere.
“Hope can be a powerful force. Maybe there’s no actual magic in it, but when you know what you hope for most and hold it like a light within you, you can make things happen, almost like magic.”
~ Laini Taylor,
Get Your Hopes Up
Hope is possible. Hope is attainable; even in a state of depression and all seems lost. We must have hope in something. A small amount of hope can get us through the day. I’ll do better than that. It can get us from one minute to the next. Hope can get us through our current trial. Hope is a gift.
What can you do to get your hopes up today? You can start by changing your thoughts to thoughts of hope. What do I mean by that? Instead of feeling down and staying in that valley, find one thing that you can start hoping for.
What are you hoping for today?
Maybe you want a new job or buy a house or car. Believe that it is possible.
The definition of hope means to expect with confidence. Hope also means to cherish a desire of good, with some expectation of obtaining it or having a belief that it is obtainable. So, what are you expecting to obtain? To have hope, we must think on hopeful things. It is possible. Get your hopes up. Hope is bigger than fear.
Don’t think you can’t have anything because you’re depressed. That is a lie placed in your mind. Depression doesn’t need to stop you. Get your hopes up. Hope for a better life for yourself. It is possible. I keep saying this because it is possible. Here’s your affirmation. Keep saying this today. It is possible.
Hope is an amazing tool. It only works when you decide to use it. Hope isn’t some magic pill that you take and poof, what you want appears right in front of you. It doesn’t work that way.
What do you have a vision for? Peace of mind? More joy? What does this look like to you?
“The best way to not feel hopeless is to get up and do something. Don’t wait for good things to happen to you. If you go out and make some good things happen, you will fill the world with hope, you will fill yourself with hope.” ~ Barack Obama
Oh my dear hopefuls, it is possible. Look, we are all human. We always want to think the worst of our lives sometimes. Living with depression is not an easy thing. We wake up in the morning wondering if our life is going to change or if we’re going to stay stuck in the same box for another day.
We have the power to change our lives and our circumstances. Start with hope. Get your hopes up! It’s time to step out and hope for something big. What’s the affirmation? Say it with me. It is possible.
“Remember, Hope is a good thing, maybe the best of things, and no good thing ever dies.” ~ Stephen King
Restore the hope that is missing in your life. Hope is real. Hope is something that you can easily believe in. Expect something good to happen to you every day. It’s possible. When you wake up tomorrow morning, tell yourself that something good will happen today. If it hasn’t happened yet (or if it has), say thank you for it anyway. Remember, what you put out, you will get back. If you send thoughts of negativity out into the universe, then that’s what you’ll get back. The law of attraction is no joke.
Find Hope in Something
No matter what circumstances is going on in your life today, remember that you can find hope in something. A little bit of hope can make a big difference. You don’t have to say in that valley. You can get out of there and do whatever it is you want to do. I know this because I’ve lived this. I’m a depressed person living in a hopeful world. I had hope that my situation will change and guess what? It did. It wasn’t magic. I managed to find hope in something. OMG! Don’t get this confused. This was not easy. Matter of fact, this can be really hard. You can’t just have hope one day and expect it to keep going on its own. You have to keep finding that hope for yourself. Hope can sustain you through your darkest times.
Do you need help finding hope in something today? Think of your goals and your dreams. Find hope in those things. All is not lost. Your future is waiting for you.
