Do you fear that you will fail? Think about that question for a moment. Do you feel that if you pursued your dream that you will fail? I thought this way for a long time before starting my dream. It left me stuck for quite a while. However, I finally realized that if I don’t fail, then I won’t grow.
As I sit here writing this post and reflect on my own past failures, let me share something really important with you. You will fail. Sorry, there is no getting around this. I’m sure all of us at one time or another have tried to. Failure is a part of life. The key is how you respond to your failures that will make the difference. I’ll say this again: if you don’t fail, you won’t grow.
Look at failure in a couple of ways;
1. You can view the failure as the ultimate disappointment in your life. As a result, you can get stuck in that ‘failure’ cycle and find it hard to push through. OR…..
2. You can look at it as a learning opportunity. Yes, you failed. It happened. Now is your chance to do something about it. Look at whatever the failure is and determine what you can learn from it. There is always something to take away from our failures.
Earlier this week, Oprah Winfrey gave the commencement speech at Harvard University. Here’s what she said about failure:
“There is no such thing as failure. Failure is just life trying to move us in another direction.”
How true is this statement? When we go through failures, we do have decide which way to go. We can go in the direction of staying stuck or we can push through it. So I ask, which way are you going to go? I suggest you push through it so you not only grow, but you achieve your dreams.
